After my manager gave me a briefing on what she wanted out of these videos, I watched vlogs, post-secondary videos and channels where creators are focused on providing insight on the institution they're studying at.

After the research I had done, my manager brought me to a meeting with all six of the communications personnel from each of UWaterloo's six faculties, where we discussed project length, next steps and content. Below is just a few rough notes of what stakeholders wanted in their video.

Once communications personnel gave me a list of students, my manager and I proceeded to interview them to understand what their daily life is like.  Below you'll find my SUPER rough notes from a few of the interviews we conducted. These interviews gave us an idea of what we could expect from the GoPro footage if the interviewee was selected.

Once we figured out what students were using for a specific faculty, I arranged with the student to give the GoPro to them so they could film their daily activities

Given the information from our interview with students, I would then begin to schedule shoot days based on their availability. In this time, I would also scout for locations to film the interview/voiceover portion.

I had to get the video and sound equipment 1 day before or the morning of shooting.

Shoot day is here! Anything that needed to be shot on main campus, I filmed. For example, a student studying, conducting their research and the interview/ voiceover portion of the video was done on this day.

This part is self-explanatory, but I would edit the footage and the sound files together to create an interesting and exciting student profile.

When I had finished a video, I would send it to my manager for feedback and approval. Once I implemented any feedback given and got approval from my manager, I sent the videos to faculty personnel for their approval and a repeat of the same process.

This was the video profile for UWaterloo's Faculty of Science.

Before the individual profiles got posted, I was asked to create a summary video that would be posted on social media, a few days before the first profile would be posted.

This was actually the first profile that I put together.  This was for the Faculty of Arts. It was definitely a great learning experience as I got a better sense of what my manager wanted out of these videos.

Everyone loves free food and drinks! Here, my co-worker and I are in the midst of giving out samples of new Campus Bubble bubble tea flavours!

To get people's attention about Beach Day - a school wide event, we set up a kiddie pool and sat in it in one of the most popular places on campus. We had music blasting and we yelled "COME TO BEACH DAY!" to everyone who passed. We definitely got lots of strange looks but this advertising strategy worked! The event sold out after the fact!

This Drake-themed event was probably my favourite event to advertise since it was already a popular event for Drake fans, which drove a lot of traffic to our booth because students wanted to learn more about the event! 

At the Feds showcase. This was where students could learn what Feds can do for them and the future events we were putting on throughout the summer!

Similar to the showcase, Feds also held an open house as another opportunity for students to learn more about their student union does for them!
